Grand Theft Auto III is an open-world action-adventure game that takes place in Liberty City, a fictional city heavily inspired by New York City. The game follows the story of Claude, a criminal who is betrayed and left for dead, as he navigates the city’s criminal underworld and seeks revenge. Players can explore the city at their own pace, complete various missions, steal cars, and engage in shootouts with rival gangs and law enforcement. The game’s realistic graphics and mature themes garnered both critical acclaim and controversy upon its release in 2001, and it has since become a cultural phenomenon and influencer in the gaming industry.
